Bella
Female
1 1/2 Years
American Bully
25 kg

Many of you will be familiar with Bella’s story. Bella recently appeared on a fundraising appeal to help for the cost of cruciate ligament surgery on both back legs.
Bella has came through one surgery and is making a marvellous recovery.

We could of course keep Bella in kennels while we await full recovery and have the other surgery done but that would lead to to a very lengthy stay in kennel.

We have decided instead to look for Bella’s home now. Ideally permanent adoption but should this be unsuccessful then even a temp foster home would avoid a lengthy kennel stay.

Bella was returned to the sanctuary due to being a little too much for the young child in the home.
We feel a home with no young children under 13 years would be more suitable for Bella. She can get easily excited and jumpy/mouth when the energy is high around her.

Bella did have some issues with being left alone in her last home which led to destructive behaviour. However we check in on our cameras and observe Bella being relaxed enough to play. This suggests that with that with routine and gradual build of alone time she certainly could build confidence in this area.

We can’t really try Bella with other dogs currently so it is best we look for a home as a only dog.

It will be important that any adopter will be able to attend our vets in Antrim for further check ups and surgery when the time comes.

As we have a very kind offer from Aqua Dog Hydrotherapy and recreational centre in Lisburn it would be very beneficial if an y adopter/foster carer could bring Bella here for rehab.
