Duke

Duke
3 yrs
Weimaraner
Male

Duke was returned to us due to an incident with a visitor that led to a bite.

Duke is generally a very boisterous and energetic boy who loves being around people and getting out and about.

He loves his toys, especially anything that has a nice squeak or rustle to it! He is quite partial to a victory gallop in our off lead areas showing off whatever toy he has found for himself.

He hasn’t had a lot of experience of being on lead prior to his time with us but has been able to walk on leads here and be around traffic with no issues. He is a strong boy though so has been having some loose lead training here which will also need to continue post adoption.

Duke has settled well during his assessment period with us and has engages well in his training – he’s a really smart cookie who loves working and using his brain!

Duke will be a part of our April’s Wish program which will involve a number of free behaviour sessions pre- and post adoption to help in understanding and managing Duke’s behaviour. There are likely to be sessions still required after the April’s Wish sessions have ended which potential adopters will need to be happy to continue with.

Due to Dukes history, he will require an adult only home with no other animals. He will also benefit from a quiet home with few visitors.
Large breed experience will be essential so please detail this in your application form.
